I think you can put things like current date/time in the name, so you can
keep a version in your documents for archive purpose. But you might want to
have the latest generated version when you get the report (i.e, not loaded
from the latest one).

Anyway, I'm not sure how OpenERP finds it's previous version. If it's based
on the name, it may have changed, in the case it is based on data contained
into the document, or time-based data.

  What is the purpose of "Reload from attachment" ?

  IMHO it is clear  - if "save as Attachment Prefix" is set, the idea is to reload it for the next use !?!?
  why else  one want's to save a report as attachment if not to reload it the next time ?
