Calculating the Total Time with negative remaining hours results in a
mess, please change it.

+1 for "Total Planned Hours = Hours Spent + positive remaining hours"

  total hours computation
  IMHO remaining hours should only be added if these are positive.

  and yes - the planned hours  should be reevaluated to avoid negative
  remaining hours.
