Yes I am agree with you regarding the Home Page after installation process.
It's web functionality to display the home page installed module. For now It needed lot of changes regarding the improvement what you suggested in bug specification.currently I can consider this issue as opinion because this needs more clarification.
@Experts: Would you please provide us your precious inputs regarding this issue.

  modules after "Install" the module list does not get updated but the
  home page appears

  IMHO after the install process finishes the module list should be
  displayed again
