I have a similar problem.

I am using 9.04 Ubuntu,

Graphic: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)
DE: gnome
cairo-dock: 2.0.8
compiz is on

I tested on several themes, same issue.
