  The Karmic release (2.0.9) is no longer maintained. This branch (2.1.x)
  brings several improvements, removes deprecated plug-ins, and fixes a
  huge amount of bugs.
  
  It has a much better support of ATI and Intel graphic cards, which was very incomplete before (the dock runs with OpenGL).
