I'm using GNOME with Compiz.

I have following problem:
      when I plugs usb stick with multiple partitions into my ubuntu 9.10 a lot of notifications from CD appears. Some of them points to dock, other appears in the middle of the screen and they overlap each other. This looks ugly.

Maybe this is better to use such mechanism as libnotify notifications for such purpose? Or at least you can make such behavior more configurable.
