Ok but it can be interesting to help these kind of people at first! (these people who just know the name of the project)
So if they want to install cairo-dock, core and plug-ins are installed. They can see that many packages are downloaded. So after that, I suppose that some of them will know that they can remove some CD-plugins packages but I think that only a minority will do that.
But ok, I agree with you, it can be interesting to remove some plug-ins packages but it's maybe better, I think, to install all plug-ins with 'cairo-dock' meta-package.

In fact, cairo-dock (core) depends of cairo-dock-plugins, simply check this bug #545172

slider/data/preview.jpg has problem in copyright.
This file includes the character of the animated cartoon[0].
This has the issue of copyright and cannot use this freely.

Please remove from archive and repository.
