I think that this problem is due to a bug in Qt... Can you try to
reproduce it by using Cairo-Dock without its OpenGL backend

Bug description:
If Cairo-Dock (GLX) was launched (and even if it is already closed) and the screen was locked then, the unlocking window is displayed as a grey rectangle. I use Mandriva 2010.1 with KDE 4.4.3, kwin window manager. Video card is GeForce 8500 GT, proprietary driver version 256.44. The bug was reproduced with Cairo-Dock 2.1.3-2 (from Mandriva repo) and 2.1.3-9.
