A fix has been released in the 2.3, although it's more a workaround,
since gtkglext and Qt just can't play well togather (the first one is
probably to be blamed).

  Tramples locked screen login graphics in KDE 4.5.2 and up

Bug description:
  cairo-dock version 2.1.3.7 w/open GL

  KDE 4.5.3
  Xorg 11
  NVidia 260.19.2 multiple cards / tried this on 2 different machines w 2 diff cards and drivers
  OpenSuse 11.2 64 bit

  login into KDE, right click the desktop, choose lock screen, after
  screen locks, move mouse to be prompted with a gray box with nothing
  in it. type your password and press enter to login.

  disable cairo-dock, logout and log back in, then lock screen again and
  dialog box is complete.
