You can use this function for any window, you only passes the X id.
And removing an option just because it doesn't work for a few users is not
a good idea, especially since we now know that it can easily be worked
around. There's nothing wrong with the code as far as we can tell, it works
great for most users.
The problem lies in the drivers, so the only correct way to fix it is to
install the latest version of the drivers.

Bug description:
When scrolling pages in the browser the opera or text scrollings in documents are shown artifacts in the form of bands with not updated pregoing image.
If you turn off Cairodock the defect does not appear.
