i am having same issue on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS,  looks like i am stuck on
the cairo session.  I am not able to logout,  any workaround.

  Logout not working in Cairo Dock

Bug description:
  I am running cairo-dock 3.4 on a fresh clean install of Ubuntu 15.04.

  The logout menu in the dock does not work. That is, it does nothing if
  the "Logout" menu item is clicked.

  However, Restart and Shutdown work properly.

  On clicking the Logout item, nothing happens.
