Public bug reported:

After moving programs from the left side to right (remove) and right
side to left (add) when done and press continue the app crashes
producing an error log to send.  Btw, it says do you want to restart
cairo.  Choosing yes does not accomplish that.  The entire desktop is
removed and you can sit for hours and the app does not restart.  In fact
nothing restarts.  You have to shut down the laptop with the power
button long pressed to induce a total shut down and then do a fresh
restart.
