Swftools allows getting some information from swf files plus conversion from and to swf.
For exemple :
[HEADER]        File version: 10
[HEADER]        File is zlib compressed. Ratio: 96%
[HEADER]        File size: 323715
[HEADER]        Frame rate: 30.000000
[HEADER]        Frame count: 2
[HEADER]        Movie width: 800.00
[HEADER]        Movie height: 600.00

It allows to make simple things without needing virtual machines with
(probably) unlicensed Adobe Suite.

I compiled it on my machine and almost everything works with a simple ./configure / make / make install.
