[Bug 1007825] [NEW] webcam camera not working after installing vlc
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
My webcam was working well in previous releases of Ubuntu. It also worked well after installation of 12.04 and I could use it with skype for video chats, but It doesn't work after I installed VLC. When I open skype options to test the camera, the camera is recognized but when I click "test" all I get is a blank screen.
I tried uninstalling vlc from my system but the problem persists.
when I tried the following:
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype
I got:
libv4l2: error setting pixformat: Device or resource busy
** Affects: skype (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
