Message #01834
[Bug 1010390] [NEW] Since upgrading to 12.04 flash player does not work in either Firefox or Chrome. No method suggested works including reinstalling Ubuntu 12.04. I also find it impossible to update Java which Firefox says it has stopped because it is out of date. update
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Ubuntu 11.10 worked fine. I have tried the usual update methods with
Synaptic, etc and used sudo apt-get. My computer processor is about 2.2
GHz and memory 1.5 GB. Firefox and Chrome give the error message that
ShockWave has crashed or needs updating.
I am using version 12.04 LTS.
This fault is widely reported and there seem to be no simple solutions.
** Affects: adobe-flashplugin (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
