Julius, this is intentional behaviour laid out in the multiarch spec
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MultiarchSpec#Dependencies_involving_Architecture:_all_packages).

The simple and correct fix here is just to make acroread-common "Multi-
Arch: foreign".
