I have noticed that if I start skype from terminal with

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype

I have the following message:

libv4l2: error dequeuing buf: Device or resource busy

could that be the reason why I'm not able to see the incoming video
call?
