[Bug 1106447] Re: Please upgrade acroread (Adobe Reader) to the latest upstream version (9.5.3)

** Description changed:

- Please upgrade acroread (Adobe Reader) to the latest upstream version,
- which is 9.5.3: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
+ Please upgrade "acroread" package (Adobe Reader) to the latest upstream version, which is 9.5.3:
+ ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/9.x/9.5.3/enu/
+ (though I don't recommend users to install the upstream DEB package directly, as its packaging quality is quite poor).

- As for now, the freshest Adobe Reader version found in Ubuntu
- repositories is an outdated acroread 9.5.1-1precise1 (it's not only
- outdated, but also has some packaging errors which make it not
- installable on amd64 systems: bug #990761).
+ It's also a good idea to include Adobe Reader Asian font pack into the Ubuntu package:
+ ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/9.x/9.5.3/enu/

- In Ubuntu Quantal & Raring, acroread seems to be missing from Ubuntu
- repositories, i. e. "partner" repository.
+ As for now, the freshest Adobe Reader version found in Ubuntu repositories is an outdated acroread 9.5.1-1precise1, and it's not only outdated, but also has some serious packaging errors:
+ 1) it has some incorrect dependencies, which make it non-installable on amd64 systems due to multiarch problems (see bug #990761);
+ 2) the source package contains not only Adobe Reader 9.5.1 English version inside, but also obsolete 9.4.2 German, French and Japanese versions (needs some research, can result in some security problems etc.).
+
+ For Ubuntu Quantal & Raring, Adobe Reader seems to be completely missing
+ from Ubuntu repositories, i. e. "partner" repository.
