Thanks, Steve. Nice to know that the LD_PRELOAD workaround won't likely
cause undesired side effects.

A possibly relevant discussion is going on at https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/34630
GLib and ld-linux.so are mentioned there as culprit candidates.

I can't tell if that discussion is applicable to our
skype/nvidia/qtwebkit issue.
