well i also have this bug and own an amd 7870 videocard using the catalyst driver... i think it is obvious that
every proprietary linux video driver causes this issue.
of course the "LD" workaround also lets skype start for me, but i have a severe crackling
on my "headset" for a few seconds and starting and ending calls does not work as flawless as it should ...
i tested my headset audio output through audacity and there are no disortions, so this
is a skype thing ... im not sure if it is connected to the "library linking" ...
