Need to address this, though I think that it might end up as part of a different MP. We use ConfigParser.read() throughout the repo, so it'd be worth refactoring every usage of it

Thanks, that's helpful, I'll amend this and I've made a card to remind me to comb through the repo and replace stray any INSERT operations with this - although only this script should be doing it ... so maybe there's more refactoring to do there :)

yeah, you're right, this should be logging.error

I don't think we want a crash - it's preferable for us if this service doesn't crash, so any reported results are still inserted into the db, and the problematic ones just stay in the queue (... I hope?)
