Title:
powerpc test in ubuntu_kernel_selftest on Trusty will collide with the
TARGETS variable
Status in ubuntu-kernel-tests:
Won't Fix
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Status in linux source package in Trusty:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
Subtests in the powerpc directory were defined with:
TARGETS = pmu tm
However, this TARGETS here will get overrided if we run those tests in ubuntu_kernel_selftests with (this is the recommended way):
$ make -C tools/testing/selftests TARGETS=ptrace run_tests
So the test will failed with:
make: Entering directory `/home/ubuntu/autotest/client/tmp/ubuntu_kernel_selftests/src/linux/tools/testing/selftests'
for TARGET in powerpc; do \
make -C $TARGET; \
done;
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/ubuntu/autotest/client/tmp/ubuntu_kernel_selftests/src/linux/tools/testing/selftests/powerpc'
make: Entering an unknown directory
make: Leaving an unknown directory
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/ubuntu/autotest/client/tmp/ubuntu_kernel_selftests/src/linux/tools/testing/selftests/powerpc'
make: Leaving directory `/home/ubuntu/autotest/client/tmp/ubuntu_kernel_selftests/src/linux/tools/testing/selftests'
stderr:
make: *** powerpc: No such file or directory. Stop.
