[Bug 2119514] [NEW] Check for lowlatency kernel settings
Public bug reported:
Starting with kernel 6.11 there is no longer a dedicated lowlatency
kernel flavor. Instead, the generic kernel flavor is used along with
some kernel parameters that make it lowlatency. Ubuntu Studio uses the
lowlatency kernel, so for that flavor, the manual tests need to be
amended to verify that the correct kernel parameters are applied and the
running kernel is indeed configured for lowlatency.
This needs to be verified both for the kernel that runs in the live
session as well as the kernel that runs after installation.
For the record, the grub.cfg snippet that sets the kernel parameters is provided by the lowlatency-kernel package:
https://git.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lowlatency-kernel/tree/debian/99-lowlatency.cfg
For the manual test, verify that /proc/cmdline contains 'preempt=full'
and 'rcu_nocbs=all'.
** Affects: ubuntu-manual-tests
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
