The show desktop button says, "Click here to hide all windows and show
the desktop." However, when you click the button, it does not hide all
windows and show the desktop. Instead, the button unminimizes all
minimized windows. The second click of the button will perform the
desired and expected behavior.

It's very annoying on laptops and slower desktops to have all your
windows suddenly fling open when your trying to get to your desktop
because it causes huge slowdowns as unneeded programs are loaded up.

The user cannot predict the behavior of the button, unless they remember
having applications minimized. Sometimes it's one click to show the
desktop, and sometimes it's two clicks to show the desktop.
