@Tom - The GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=1 workaround worked with Konqueror and
Opera.  Epiphany didn't exhibit this problem in the first place.

I didn't have this issue in Karmic (32-bit) when I was using KDE4 and
kwin without compositing, but I'm currently using KDE4 with awesome as
the window manager and it did crop up then.
