I doubt that the flickering is an intention, otherwise the option
wouldn't even be there in the first place.

Manzur: Have you submitted the report upstream to opencompositing.org?
Even if LP doesn't do a good job of sorting out the bugs, I'm sure that
if the compiz devs know the issue, they'll work on it.
