this happens when using update manager, no others.
It is now restarted by using Compiz Fusion Icon
It occurs occasionally, not always repeatable.
dual monitors

1) open update manager from menu
2) input administrative password.
3) resatart window manager if window decorations disappear and windows move to upper right hand corner of screen
4) reposition open windows
