After filing the defect, I attempted to replicate it: as soon as I tried
to enable the 'reflection' effect, things locked up again. The actual
behavior, though: I could move the mouse (I'm using the trackpad on my
laptop, not an actual mouse) but couldn't click on anything or use any
keys, e.g. ctrl-alt-f2 didn't do anything. Again, I had to reboot. When
I returned, the reflection effect was _not_ enabled.
