Try this with more than three windows open.  Usually 7 is enough.

The point is, given enough windows, Compiz will ultimately expand the
Application Switcher out of the available screen space at 640x480 (which
probably happens with four windows) and 800x600 (which probably happens
with six or seven windows.)

What more information do we need?
