Still having the issue on reboot from earlier updates (round noon).

** No titlebars and window border whatsoever **
** Latest opened window stays on top **

Workaround: I had to go to System>Preferences ... Desktop Effects tab
and try and activate compiz to get metacity working again (and thus
getting an usable desktop).
