this is not a compiz problem I didn't install it yet nor is it
installed, this is just after a fresh 10.04 LTS install

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM
Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02)

I already ran "apport-collect 576523"

ran it again and it says "no additional information collected"
