This is intentional, Chrome tried to display a window larger than your
graphics hardware can handle so the choices are to draw a solid white
window you can't interact with or have compiz launch metacity so you
continue having a usable system.

Compiz 0.9+ will solve this automatically by splitting the window into
multiple textures but until then this is an intentional decision, not a
crash, and thus I've closed it Won't Fix.
