Similar situation.  I have a Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS 512MB PCI card and
also have an integrated intel graphics card that I can't remove.  Compiz
works fine with my GeForce 8400 GS, which Ubuntu uses, but I can't
enable compiz because the intel graphics card is blacklisted.  I used
the workaround posted by zpletan here -->
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1467202, but a fix would be
great.

Ubuntu 10.04 i386.
