@Horst:  We did backport the particular fix, but it created another
regression.  Does the workaround of setting the auto-hide property of
your top panel work for you?  To do this, right-click on the panel,
select Properties, and enable Autohide.  Another (but probably less
desirable) option is to export presentations as PDFs, as it seems
fullscreen presentations are working with our PDF viewer.
