[Bug 455378] Re: Can't resize windows to be displayed on several monitors

Thinking about this more... There are situations where I want full-
screen and maximize to mean different things... At work with VLC, it
definitely means "span all screens" so that F11 in Vinagre or Remmina
can work effectively with my remote workstations, so that some games can
span multiple windows when in full-screen, or so that my Excel
application will either full-screen or Maximize to multiple monitors for
those /really/ big spreadsheets... However, I may want full-screen to
mean "span 1 screen" when I am viewing a DVD or full-
screening/Maximizing my email client, /sometimes/ full-screening or
maximizing a Terminal session, or running OoLite with only 2 monitors.

So... is there a (script-able) way to configure Compiz to switch between
full-screen and maximize modes?
