Message #09582
[Bug 683121] [NEW] Compiz hangs on logout / doesn't integrate with gnome-session: complains that "Window Manager" does not respond
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Compiz hangs on logout. I will be asked if I want to kill the
application (see screenshot).
viz: Clicking on the the (') menu in the top-right and selecting
"Restart..."/"Restart to complete upgrade..." asks for confirmation, and
then brings up a box complaining that the "Window Manager" is not
responding and whether the user wishes to reboot anyway.
Since a normal user doesn't know what a Window Manager is, ideally the
window manager should ensure that it can always respond and therefore
allow the shutdown to proceed.
** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu)
Importance: High

Status: Fix Committed
