The configuration SHOULD have been attached as GconfCompiz.txt (I filed
with ubuntu-bug compiz), but clearly it is not present.  As per request,
attaching the output of:

  $ gconftool --dump /apps/compiz-1 > GconfCompiz.xml

FWIW ...

$  ls -ld .gconf/apps/compiz*
drwx------ 3 noel noel 4096 2010-06-16 18:14 .gconf/apps/compiz
drwx------ 3 noel noel 4096 2011-02-05 18:55 .gconf/apps/compiz-1
drwx------ 3 noel noel 4096 2011-02-05 18:55 .gconf/apps/compizconfig-1

Apparently, this is due to this install having been done pre-natty alpha
as an upgrade from a cloned maverick partition.
