has anyone tried any other nvidia drivers? (such as the 185 version
maybe)

i tried installing the 173 but then the system coudn't start the x for some reason.
p.s. i also cant use the nouveau driver because of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/776306. i am kind of stuck without any solution to this bug.
