I have tested Natty on a desktop workstation and the workspace switcher
worked while scroling on the desktop. I haven't tested this with a
notebook yet, but it looks promising.

I corrected the issue with Mint 9 by using the left and right scroll
buttons on my mouse as workspace switch buttons.
