I can confirm this is still an issue in 
*Ubuntu 11.04 (64-bit)
*Compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110415-0ubuntu2
*CCSM 0.9.4

It would be nice to have the option to set "Click Desktop to Exit Scale"
in the CCSM.  As this is an option in OSX, most users will expect this.

I use hot corners to initiate my "Scale" function. The same hot corner
acts as the cancel mechanism to the Scale function. It would also be
nice to turn this off.
