[Bug 764330] Re: Move window annoying slow with compiz

Natty
Compiz 0.9.4.0
2.6.38-8-generic-pae
Radeon HD 5750 w/ proprietary driver 11-6-x86
MOUSE: Logitech G500

Compiz is very slow/choppy during window movement and desktop cube
rotation. It is choppy ONLY WHILE THE MOUSE IS MOVING. Compiz is not
slow/choppy while the mouse isn't moving. I assume this means that mouse
input events are somehow interfering with Compiz? SWITCHING TO A
DIFFERENT MOUSE FIXES THE PROBLEM COMPLETELY (a cheap dell mouse).

Disabling Sync to VBlank does not help. Disabling Detect Refresh Rate
does not help.

I get an error message in /var/log/Xorg.0.log:
(EE) Logitech G500: failed to initialize for relative axes.
(II) Logitech G500: initialized for absolute axes.

I wonder how many others' problems are due to the mouse without
realising it? It was difficult to realise that Compiz was only lagging
while the mouse was moving.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.
