[Bug 764330] Re: Move window annoying slow with compiz

I posted 2 hours too soon!

So on a hunch, based on some other xorg.0.log output from other users in
this ticket, I noticed that all folks with both and Nvidia Video card,
and a Logitech mouse seem to have reported this problem. I run this
configuration as well (G700- same problem wired or wireless).

Based on this, I went out and grabbed a Microsoft Intellimouse classic -
$30 mouse at your local shop. Unity restart, and problem completely and
entirely gone. Window dragging is now smooth as butter, effects don't
lag, etc.

It has something to do with this in the Xorg logs:

[ 1077.302] (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Logitech G700 Laser Mouse" (type: KEYBOARD)
[ 1077.302] (EE) Logitech G700 Laser Mouse: failed to initialize for relative axes.

I have pasted all "logitech" based output from my Xorg.0.log where the
problem is happening, and where it appears to be fine:

26.460] (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Microsoft Microsoft 5-Button Mouse with IntelliEye(TM)" (type: MOUSE)
[ 26.460] (II) Microsoft Microsoft 5-Button Mouse with IntelliEye(TM): initialized for relative axes.

Note the KEYBOARD and MOUSE types. Something perhaps not registering
correctly? I don't have time to look into this more at the moment, but
I believe this should actually give this bug some traction.

If any developers want to contact me for direct testing, please let me
know. I'm happy to setup a machine here for remote access if that is
beneficial.
