Also affects me:

Ubuntu 11.10 becomes absolutely laggy when I move a window or scrolling
firefox.

I have a Logitech Laser Mouse (LS1), so I tried the "usbhid" workaround
with no results.

10 minutes after login in my system, compiz uses continously the 6% of
the CPU and 350Mb of RAM. As the time pases, the system become slow...
very slow.

My system specs:

* Ubuntu 11.10 (3.0.0-14-generic-pae) with Unity
* Dell Vostro 1500 (Laptop)
* CPU: Intel Core2Duo 2.2Ghz, 4Gb RAM
* GPU: nVidia Corporation G84 (GeForce 8600M GT, 1Gb). Propietary driver: 290.10

The only Compiz plugin I've activated is "Show all windows", that works
perfectly but some times hangs half a second and takes almost 90% of the
CPU.
