Daniel: I may have been unclear, I've always reboot'ed after each upgrade from your ppa. F.example when I came back from xmas and upgraded from vv8 -> vv10 I tok a reboot, and I did the same now after downgrading (I rebooted) .
A reboot always help, and as described initially in this bug report I see gradual degradation over time (days) .
My computer was running on vv8 over xmas (more than a week) and I saw no degradation, but vv10 gave me degradation for each day in the span 2nd jan. -> 9th jan. 

I was thinking more in the lines of downgrading to vv8 now and see if
degradation occurs when I'm using the computer (mabye it didn't occur
over xmas because the computer was idle) .
