Steve (and anyone else affected), please test the fixes for bug 917210
using _both_ of these:

ppa:vanvugt/compiz
ppa:vanvugt/unity

If that solves the problem then we can mark this as a duplicate of bug
917210 (even though this bug is older, I know).
