Nikita: I only get this crash when cube is enabled. If I switch to
desktop wall, I don't have the crash.

The bug I linked to involved a redraw of the screen when the cube is
rotated, causing a "flicker." This case appears to involve some kind of
race condition, in which the desktop is being "respawned too quickly"
when alt-tab is used. I wonder if an intended fix to the "flicker" issue
is related to the current bug.

You state that you still get the crash when not using any compiz
effects.  Does that mean you get the crash when using the Unity2D
desktop, or something else?
