There has been a special hack in the fglrx driver for compiz to work with proper OpenGL acceleration. AMD told us they will remove it but it looks like they haven't done so yet. In anticipation, a fix was removed from Compiz and this is what is causing the problem. The fix will be restore and we will ask AMD to give us an update on the situation.
