In fact, the number 1,500,000 makes sense. That's probably the number of
video frames (monitor refresh rate) that your system would normally
render in 8 hours.

However, compiz won't try to render a new frame unless some part of the
screen is changing. So maybe another simple workaround is to minimize
any windows that change lots before leaving your PC for many hours.
