I can confirm Alan's finding, a locked screen (blank screensaver)
seemingly has compiz generating ca. 40 wakeups per second for the
duration of blank screen. Unlocking gets the compiz wakeups again down
(also for me I do see numbers under 10 now).

Probably worth opening a new bug report.
