Just FYI - After dragging to launcher, it seems a reboot is required
before this works properly.  I had the same issue when i dragged the
official (non-ubuntu) VirtualBox into the launcher: After initial drag
to launcher, it would not detect that it was running once i first
clicked it, and the problem described above happenned.  I'm not sure if
this is happening for first time you drag anything from search to
launcher, but it has happenned twice with me - and both times a reboot
fixed it.
